Privacy Policy

The short version: Warranty Tracker collects nothing. There is no account, no cloud, and no tracking. Everything you add lives only on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Warranty Tracker does not have accounts, servers, analytics, advertising SDKs, or any third-party tracking. We never see your items, receipts, serial numbers, or any other information you enter.

Where your data lives

Everything you add — item names, stores, prices, dates, photos of receipts, serial numbers and notes — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device storage. We have no servers and no ability to see it.

Two things stay on your device but sit slightly outside the app itself, and both are handled by iOS rather than by us: a small summary of what is ending soon is written to the app's own shared container so the home-screen and Lock Screen widgets can draw it, and item names and stores are added to your iPhone's Spotlight index so you can find them from the home screen. Neither leaves the phone.

If you have iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup switched on, your iPhone includes this app's data in that backup, the same as any other app. That copy is made and encrypted by Apple under Apple's terms — we never see it, and you can turn it off in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage › Backups.

Reminders

Expiry and return-window reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device by iOS. They are created and delivered entirely on your phone. No reminder information is sent to us or to any server.

Receipt scanning

When you scan a receipt, the text is read using Apple's on-device Vision framework. The image and the recognised text are processed locally and are never transmitted off your device.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your name, email, or payment details — Apple manages all of that under its own privacy policy.

What Apple sees

Because the app is sold through the App Store, Apple handles the purchase and sends us anonymous, aggregate sales figures — how many subscriptions were sold in a country, and nothing that identifies you. Apple's own handling of your Apple Account is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Exports, backups and moving to a new phone

Because we hold nothing, keeping your own copy is on you — and the app is built so that is easy. You can export your records as a PDF or CSV, share a receipt image, or save a complete backup file containing every item and every receipt photo. Restoring that file on a new iPhone carries everything across; backup and restore are free, not a paid feature. Your iPhone's own iCloud or encrypted computer backup includes the app's data too, so a standard device transfer brings it along as well.

When you export or share, iOS's standard share sheet sends the file wherever you choose. That action is initiated and controlled by you, and where it lands afterwards is outside our reach — a backup file holds everything, so keep it somewhere you trust.

Deleting your data

You are always in control. Open an item and choose Void this record, or press and hold it on your shelf and choose the same — either one removes that item, its receipt photo, its reminders and its Spotlight entry from your phone. To remove everything at once, delete the app; iOS takes the whole store with it. There is nothing on a server for us to delete, because nothing was ever sent to one.

Your rights

Data-protection law (including the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR) gives you rights to access, correct, export and erase your personal data. Those rights are exercised against whoever holds your data — and here that is only you, on your own phone. We are not a controller or processor of anything you enter, because we never receive it. You can access and export everything at any time with the export and backup tools above, and delete it as described. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third parties — every image and style comes from this domain. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and abuse prevention under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Cloudflare processes those logs as our hosting provider on the legal basis of legitimate interest in keeping the site up and free of abuse. We do not read or receive them, and there is no form, sign-up or comment box on this site to type anything into.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. Because it collects no data, it collects no data from children either.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, we don't expect that to change.
